With over thirty years in accounting, our Accountant, Louise Funnell, takes care of all financial matters at ABDA. Louise qualified as an accountant in 1997 and joined the ABDA team almost 10 years ago, quickly establishing her role as a support mechanism to all of the staff and their differing roles.

We spoke to Louise about day-to-day life at ABDA and what it means to be part of the team…

1) What’s the scope of your role at ABDA?

I joined ABDA in the summer of 2010 to start the role as Accountant, which sees me looking after all of the finance within the business. On a day-to-day basis I make sure projects are invoiced and paid on time, that our suppliers are paid promptly and that cash flow is managed properly. A big part of my role is taking care of staff processes, such as payroll, assisting with HR and looking after compliance work like VAT and CIS returns. Offering help and support is an important aspect to everything I do, and I try to assist the ABDA team in any way I can.

2) What have your biggest challenges / career highlights been at ABDA?

In May 2017, our Operations Manager, Carlisle, and I project managed the expansion of the ABDA office, which now incorporates the Main Chapel area within the Studio. It was lovely to coordinate the move into this beautiful environment, which also gives the team much more space.

3) What do you enjoy most about being part of the ABDA team?

The great thing about my job is I work with a fantastic bunch of people and I love to see the projects that the talented team design and create. It is brilliant to be able to support every single person, we are a great team. The Chapel is a lovely location and Little Brington is a gorgeous part of Northamptonshire to work within.
