Double Tree by Hilton Manchester Piccadilly
On this project we worked alongside Valor Hospitality Europe who were contracted to carry out re-design and fit out work across a number of the Hilton DoubleTree sites in 2017. The aim was to increase footfall beyond the hotel’s overnight guests. Our brief for this Manchester site was to create a fluid and inviting space throughout the hotel’s public areas, which would provide varied dining options and a design concept unique to the local area.
The Store Street Craft Bar opened for business in October 2017 and was designed to reflect the days of Manchester’s Industrial Revolution era and the opening of Store Street Station in 1842 (the original name of Manchester’s Piccadilly Station). We wanted to create a spirit of innovation and commerce, and a lively and vibrant atmosphere that would enable a destination venue with a high street feel.
The offering includes locally sourced food and beverages, theatre-style cooking including rotisserie and the use of industrial-style materials, texture and lighting to reflect Manchester’s cosmopolitan character. With this new space, Hilton has seen an increase in both covers and average spend and it is now viewed as an on-trend venue for a vast range of pre-dinner drinks including craft beers. We also included a more secluded area with a family feel so this appealed to a wider range of demographics for maximum footfall.
